Grab Our Mission
We Support African Children to Reach Their Full Potential
What We Do
— Project 0
In 2018 when Moe Muhammed, founder of Grab Foundation, first stepped foot on Louisiana Tech campus, he began the long journey to complete project 0. The goal was to collect 100 basketball shoes to send home to kids in Suleja, Nigeria. It took almost two years for him to see it through. With support from the Ruston community and Louisiana Tech’s basketball team, Project 0 pioneered the launch of Grass Root Africa Basketball Foundation.
— Project 1
Having proper basketball courts with upright goals in Suleja is a necessity if we want to help kids grow in school and with basketball. The goal of this project is to renovate basketball courts in Suleja, which is in a very rough state.
— Project 2
Project 2 is to get Grab Foundation supporters to donate and give away 500 basketball shoes to kids in Abuja, Niger, and Kaduna state Nigeria. This will help motivate kids in Suleja and encourage them to stay in school.
— Project 3
We are looking to install a public water borehole in Suleja, Nigeria, where the natives and people of Suleja can come to enjoy clean drinkable water. To date, clean water is still a luxury the common man cannot afford in Suleja, Nigeria.
— Project 4
Launch Grab Foundation’s annual basketball clinic (Grab D Ball). The goal is to bring awareness to kids in Suleja about the importance of education. This will also introduce us to kids in need of Grab Foundation’s mentorship program.
— Project 5
Have up to 100 kids under Grab Foundation’s mentorship program. Through our virtual meetings, social media platform, and our annual clinic, we are looking to reach 100 kids and provide them the guidance they need to grow and persevere.
— Project 6
With project 6, we want to build a dormitory/hostel for homeless kids in Suleja.
— Project 7
We want to build the first public indoor court in northern Nigeria for kids. This will create more opportunities for kids to thrive in both basketball and school.
— Project 8
We want to install a dining cafeteria at the orphanage we have adopted. We want to make sure that not only do the kids sleep well, but get proper nutrition as well.
Our mission is to help support childhood education through basketball. In the 3rd world Africa, kids are constantly battling the pressure of staying in school while striving against hunger and poverty. Due to lack of support, kids continue to find lesser motivation in staying in school because their parents can barely afford to give them the support needed to be educated…
We want to empower kids with hope through basketball and breath life to dreams and belief of a better future through the provision of some basic amenities of life…
